On 29 November, White Star Miss Soweto 2025 returned to the Soweto Theatre with a celebration rooted in purpose, pride and the power of young women using their voices to uplift their communities.

As proud partners to White Star, the Matriarch team was once again honoured to help bring this iconic South African celebration to life. Miss Soweto remains one of the country’s most cherished pageants, giving young women the space to share their stories, uplift their communities, and represent Soweto with pride.

This year, the crown was awarded to 22-year-old Lungile Siyaphi, a Construction Management Studies student at the University of the Witwatersrand and proud resident of Orlando East. Her grace, confidence, and heartfelt commitment to community empowerment shone through every stage of the competition. From her poise on the runway to her thoughtful final answer, Lungile demonstrated a rare blend of authenticity, purpose, and leadership.

Joining her on stage were:

First Princess: Boitumelo Molotsane
Second Princess: Kutlwano Zingitwa

All three finalists were recognised for their poise, intelligence, and commitment to creating positive change.

A Celebration Rooted in Community

While Miss Soweto is known for its glamour, its true heart lies in community upliftment. Lungile has made it clear that her reign will be centred on serving others, with a particular focus on expanding and supporting local feeding schemes – work that is deeply personal to her.

In her post-crowning interview, she shared that becoming Miss Soweto is not simply a title, but a responsibility to give back. Her vision aligns beautifully with White Star’s belief in celebrating and supporting the many crowns South African women wear each day.
